Brent's Delicatessen & Restaurant @ Northridge, CA

October 10th, 2007
Minjee decided to buy me a dinner for fixing her laptop.
I searched Yelp for a new restaurant to visit then I found this place.
Brent's Delicatessen & Restaurant

As soon as I got there I noticed many old people walking around and waiting to be seated.

We had to wait for our seat for about 10 minute.
I could see classic deli action on the right side of the restaurant.
Half of the customers who came through the door was getting 'to go'

These pickles were served first even before the order was received.
I do NOT like pickles. BUT these were amazingly tasty.
In the picture, middle two pickles had that clean and fresh cucumber taste more than salty taste from pickles. But outside two had classic pickle taste.

Table decor was not too flash yet pretty enough to notice.
Table was very clean and well organized when we were seated.

Utensils were clean and satisfying even for germophobics.

This was my appetizer. Chopped liver.
I love liver. chicken, beef, or duck.
The liver was chopped quite fine and it had little sweet taste but ended with liver's unique taste that I love so much.

The bread came with some butter. They were warm and fresh. I couldn't figure out what kind of breads they were, but I know they were good.

My soup came out. Chicken noodle. When it came out it was hot, but not too hot. I would rate the soup 9/10. As you can see in the picture, there were plenty of chicken breasts and noodles to feed on. Flavor was mild which I like.

A baby was looking at me taking pictures. :)

This was Minjee's order. Chef's salad.
That was half order, $9.75. Full portion is available for $11.25
Julienne of Turkey, Ham & Swiss Cheese, Hard Boiled Egg and Tomato, Choice of Dressing.
As you can see, half order is big. I don't think I can even finish one myself.
All the ingredients were amazing. They just worked.

My main course. OLD FASHIONED MEAT LOAF.
(Prepared Daily) comes with Real Homemade Mashed Potatoes and Coleslaw.
This is probably the first time I ever ordered a meat loaf at a restaurant.
Meat loaf was lean, juicy and amazingly tasty. I was like "man, ketchup was made for this meat loaf." Homemade Mashed potatoes, blew my mind away. Not like any other restaurants, this actually tastes like potatoes. Gravy was amazing, but I didn't put it on my mashed potatoes, because it was just good as it is. Homemade? Definitely 100%
Coleslaw didn't fail me either.

My desert, rice pudding. It wasn't the best, but it was pretty darn good.
I took couple of bites, but didn't finish it due to my ongoing diet.

My order cost me $12.50 + $6.95(complete dinner) = $19.45
$19.45 covered, appetizer, soup or salad, desert, beverage and a main course.

The best part? Neither Minjee or I could finish the whole thing and I was left with 2 extra meals for next day.

$35 was paid to cover check and tips.
