2010-05-15 Los Angeles Vendy Award

If you remember my old post about LA street food fest, you would understand that I was very skeptical about this event.

My good friend Matt invited me to Los Angeles Vendy Award. The event has a long history in the city of New York. The event was brought to Los Angeles to promote and help street vendors.

This event was very different from the disasterous LA Street Food Fest. It was smaller in scale, more organized, and pricey.

Yes, the entry fee might have been a turned off point for many people. But compared to LA Street Food Fest, it was well worth it. No waiting in line for one hour. No walking through thousands of people. Instead you pay the flat entrance fee and the food is included. Because it wasn't too crowded, you could actually have conversations with vendors and ask them questions.

I hope to see some changes in next LA Street Food Fest.

Griffiths in Los Angeles!

I have a sister... from another mother.
DeNae, a classmate from high school, moved back to her hometown in TX in high school.
We've been seperated for about 7 years.. during last week, She was visiting Los Angeles with her husband, Jeremy Griffith.

As a late wedding gift, I gave them a photo shoot.
Since their Last name is "griffith", I took them to Griffith Park
Originally, we were planning to go to Griffith Observatory, but they close on Monday. :(
so, I had to think quick and took them to place I've never been to. (usually a bad idea)
I took them to "Travel Town" in Griffith park


















Friday, the last day of Griffiths' visit, we were at the Dimples in Burbank.

It was so sad to leave the Dimples little early, cause I really wanted to sing a last song for these ladies.

Out of State relatives

To celebrate my aunt's 60th birthday, my mom's side family came together in LA.

My Cousin, Joanne, also came to visit Los Angeles, where once she lived.

Her friend from Atlanta also joined to tour around LA. We didn't have much time so we could only saw so much. 

And Because I am going through a financial problems, all I could do was, take nice pictures :)

So, I set up something small at home, and started taking pictures for my cousin

She was such a great model :)

Then the next day, we went to Griffith Observatory

of course, we ate something before

Observatory was ton of fun :)

It took us about 12 shots to get this one right :)

The last day, before they went to LAX

I took them to Santa Monica Pier

Sadly, we got there right after the sun set :(
